Ahmed Draia University of Adrar Concludes the 2025–2026 Academic Year and Honors Outstanding Students

University of Adrar officially brought the 2025–2026 academic year to a close on Wednesday, June 24, 2026, during a prestigious ceremony held at the university’s Grand Lecture Hall. The event was marked by an atmosphere of pride and celebration, reflecting the institution’s remarkable academic achievements throughout the year.

The ceremony was presided over by Mr. Fodil Douifi, Governor (Wali) of Adrar Province, accompanied by Mr. Aqsasi Abdelkader, Vice-President of the Provincial People’s Assembly, and Professor Mohamed Amine Benamar, Rector of Ahmed Draia University. The event was also honored by the presence of Professor Karim Jouani, Professor at the University of Paris, Chair Holder at the University of Pretoria (South Africa), and member of the Scientific Council of the University of Adrar.

The ceremony gathered members of the local security committee, the local representative of the National Mediator, the Director of University Services, executive officials, vice-rectors, deans, faculty members, student organization leaders, university club representatives, as well as a large number of students and their families.

On this occasion, Professor Mohamed Amine Ben Omar delivered a welcoming and strategic address in which he reviewed the university’s scientific, academic, and pedagogical activities carried out throughout the academic year. He highlighted the institution’s achievements and emphasized its commitment to the directives of the country’s highest authorities, which continue to promote the university as a key driver of economic and social development and a strategic partner in addressing contemporary national and international challenges.

The Rector also presented a comprehensive overview of the university’s annual performance, including academic statistics and educational outcomes for both undergraduate (Bachelor’s) and graduate (Master’s) programs. The results reflected significant progress in student success rates and the overall quality of higher education delivered by the institution.

Professor Benamar praised the dedication of faculty members, administrative staff, and students, while extending his best wishes to graduates as they embark on their professional careers and contribute to the nation’s development.

The audience was also moved by a speech delivered by the representative of the graduating class of 2025–2026 on behalf of the outstanding students. She expressed sincere gratitude to the professors and university administration for their continuous support and guidance throughout their academic journey, pledging to represent their alma mater with distinction in their future professional endeavors.

In his official address, Governor Fodil Douifi congratulated the university community on the successful completion of a productive academic year, emphasizing that universities remain a true measure of a nation’s progress and prosperity.

The Governor expressed pride in the achievements of Ahmed Draia University, describing it as a growing center of excellence that attracts students locally and across Africa thanks to its modern infrastructure, advanced facilities, and high-quality academic supervision. He also expressed hope for the future opening of new specialized academic branches.

Mr. Douifi further stressed the university’s central role in sustainable development through the preparation of qualified human resources capable of implementing national development programs. He commended the university’s distinguished position in national rankings and encouraged all stakeholders to continue valuing knowledge, excellence, and perseverance so that the institution remains a model of academic success.

Concluding his remarks, the Governor expressed his appreciation to the Rector, administrative staff, faculty members, and social partners for their collective efforts in ensuring the success of the academic year. He congratulated the graduates and wished them every success in their professional lives before officially declaring the closure of the 2025–2026 academic year.

The ceremony culminated in an awards presentation recognizing outstanding achievements across the university. Honors were awarded to the top-ranked students at the institutional level, as well as the highest achievers in various undergraduate and graduate disciplines.

Special recognition was also given to young entrepreneurs who successfully launched and implemented startup projects after receiving training and mentorship from the University Entrepreneurship Development Center in partnership with the National Agency for Entrepreneurship Support and Development (NESDA).

In addition, students leading accredited startup projects and incubated by the university’s Business Incubator were honored, alongside innovators and researchers who obtained official patents for their scientific and applied research projects.

The event concluded with commemorative group photographs, capturing the success of the academic year and symbolizing the graduates’ aspirations for a brighter future in their academic and professional journeys.
