University of Adrar Expands Academic Offerings with Nine New Master’s Programmes for 2026–2027
As part of the pedagogical preparations for the 2026–2027 academic year, the University of Adrar has unveiled a significant expansion of its academic portfolio, introducing nine new Master’s programmes, alongside curriculum alignment initiatives and the anticipated accreditation of several engineering programmes.
According to the University’s updated academic map, the institution continues to strengthen and diversify its training offer. During the 2025–2026 academic year, the University offered a total of 99 academic programmes across undergraduate and postgraduate levels, including Bachelor’s, Master’s, Engineering, Medicine, and the Higher School for Primary Education Teachers.
The current academic structure comprises:
44 Bachelor’s programmes;
47 Master’s programmes;
6 State Engineering programmes;
Medicine;
The Higher School for Primary Education Teachers pathway.
For the 2026–2027 academic year, approval has been granted for the launch of eight new academic Master’s programmes and one professional Master’s programme. In addition, two existing programmes have been realigned to meet updated academic requirements, while four new State Engineering programmes are awaiting official accreditation. Once these developments are completed, the University’s academic portfolio will expand to 108 programmes.
Newly approved Master’s programmes include:
Master’s in Economics and Business Management;
Master’s in Finance and International Trade;
Master’s in Commercial Sciences – Financial Management;
Master’s in Media and Communication – Public Relations;
Master’s in History and Civilization of the Islamic East;
Master’s in Islamic Studies – Arabic Language and Qur’anic Studies;
Master’s in Judicial Law;
Master’s in Public Economic Law;
Professional Master’s in Political Science – Strategic and Security Studies.
Engineering programmes awaiting accreditation include:
State Engineering in Civil Engineering – Structural Engineering;
State Engineering in Industrial Electrical Engineering;
State Engineering in Mechanical Engineering – Manufacturing and Maintenance;
State Engineering in Chemical Process Engineering.
The University has also aligned two postgraduate programmes with current academic standards:
Master’s in Artificial Intelligence;
Master’s in Applied Mathematics.
This expansion builds on the University’s recent investment in modern academic and innovation infrastructure, including the House of Artificial Intelligence, the Entrepreneurship Development Centre, and a Technology Hub housing shared laboratories, nutrition and agriculture facilities, and a physicochemical analysis unit. The University has also established the House of Manuscripts, in addition to hosting offices for companies specialising in embedded systems, urban and civil engineering consulting, and investment funds.
These developments reflect the strategic vision of Algeria’s higher education sector to promote digital transformation, innovation, entrepreneurship, and stronger alignment between academic training and national socio-economic development priorities.
